in OTHER NEWS i am fed up with people treating me like shit because i identify as an intersectional feminist bc i am outspoken. I am tired of my friends referring to me as annoying and dramatic. THIS STUFF WILL EFFECT THEM TOO!!! WAIT UNTIL THEY CAN NO LONGER TAKE BIRTH CONTROL!! UNTIL THEY DONT HAVE ABORTION LEFT AS AN OPTION. THEIR WAGES GO DOWN !THEN WHO WILL SEEM DRAMATIC IM TIRED OF BEING TALKED DOWN TO FOR HAVING A VOICE. THEY DONT HAVE TO AGREE WITH ME BUT IF THEY ACTUALLY LOVED ME THEY WOULD JUST LET ME DO MY OWN THING. IM ACTUALLY DEEPLY HURT BC PEOPLE WHO I THOUGHT UNDERSTOOD ME CLEARLY DONT. THIS IS IMMATURE AND I FEEL LIKE IM IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. GUESS WHAT I REFUSE TO BACK DOWN. I REFUSE TO STAY SILENT DURING TIMES OF SUCH RACISM, SEXISM, HOMOPHOBIA. I REFUSE AND IF THOSE PEOPLE DONT LIKE IT THATS TOO BAD FOR THEM. IF ANYTHING IT ONLY MAKES ME LOUDER.

I once pointed this out to my mother and she just stared at me, in stunned silence for ages.

There will always be a girl who is less sober, less secure, with less friends walking in a darker part of town. I want her safe just as much as I want me safe.

We went to the Women’s March on Washington to ask our fellow marchers what they had to say to Donald Trump and what brought them into the streets today. Over the next couple of days we’ll be posting some of their stories. Here’s one woman who’s a first generation American who says she feels devastated to think that her parents would not be welcomed into our country today.

And now, museums are collecting their favorite women’s march signs from this historic moment.
